Following the death of founder member, Sammy Glass from Belfast, the club found that they had received a most generous legacy. This enabled the club to purchase a hospitality trailer used at Dundrod and all sorts of motorcycle events. The committee also made the decision to purchase a magnificent silver rose bowl which is presented to the highest placed newcomer in the second Superbike Race at the Ulster Grand Prix.
The trophy was first presented in 2004 and anyone who gets the chance to read the names engraved on the trophy will be amazed by the calibre of the riders who have won this prestigious trophy over the years.
We hope to soon have a few more details available about the life and motorcycling achievements of Sammy Glass during his motorcycle career. If anyone can supply some details, please contact the Secretary via email - gail@ugpsc.com
